I recently scrapped some pics from my childhood (the late 60s) and not surprisingly the colors had changed to a greenish hue. Rather than scan them and have PSE color correct them, I just used the currently colors to dictate my paper color choices.
So I was wondering, when you're scrapping heritage photos that aren't b&w, do you scan and correct the color or just leave them as is?

I would probably leave them as is.

I never scrap the original photo. I scan them, so I either color correct or change them to black & white or sepia. Then the original gets stored in a safe place. Of course, pictures from my childhood are from the 50's, so my pictures of my parents & their families are very old, so need to be handled with great care!

It depends for mine. I typically love to play with different photoshop actions to get them to really pop, but at times the 'green' hue would add to the vintage feel so I'd leave it.

I'm afraid I don't have any photos old enough to have faded yet! Good luck!

I also don't scrap the originals and when I made copies the colors auto fixed... I wasn't thinking there was an option to not have it done.

I do both with the scanned images. If its a pretty vintage feel I'll scrap em as is. If its really bad I'll black and white them. It just depends on my mood.

I would typically scan it in and try the color correct...but if I don't like how it looks after that I would just leave it as is.
